Chief Engineer

About the role

The Chief Engineer position at The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, part of the Auberge Collection, is seeking a visionary leader with 5+ years of operating experience in hotel engineering. The ideal candidate will lead the maintenance and repair of building systems, equipment, and facilities, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrates the technical operations of the facility, setting technical goals and overseeing the successful execution of projects.
• Maintains and repairs building systems, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
• Develops and manages the engineering department's budget, controlling costs and allocating resources efficiently.
• Collaborates with other departments to develop and implement strategic plans for facility improvement, energy efficiency, and technological upgrades.
• Safeguards compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards, and oversees inspections and audits to maintain a secure and compliant facility.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of operating experience in the engineering department of a hotel or closely related industry.
• Preferred certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience and solid understanding of plumbing, HVAC, electric, spa and pool utilities, and carpentry.
• Experience in maintaining state and federal health and safety regulations.
• Experience in completing administrative tasks, including reporting, budgeting, project management, etc.

Benefits

The Chief Engineer position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 based on experience.
