Chief Engineer
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Responsibilities
- Lead system architecture design, optimization activities, trades, and analyses.
- Ensure system design and implementation meet technical requirements and customer/mission needs within allocated engineering cost and schedule.
- Ensure system design is realizable, maintainable, supportable, and testable.
- Drive technical risk and opportunity definition, identification, and mitigation/realization.
- Serve as the technical interface to customers, Program Management Office (PMO), and executive leadership.
- Prepare and deliver customer and technical presentations.
- Understand requirements, missions, use cases, and constraints.
- Manage technical risks and issues, including impact assessment, mitigation, minimization, and closure plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field with a minimum of ten years of engineering experience.
- Active US Government security clearance (with ability to possess TS).
- Experience leading development of Electro-Optic Infrared (EO/IR) products for military applications.
- Direct experience with one or more of the following: IR camera development, automatic target recognition algorithms, laser development, IR countermeasures, gimbals/pointers, motor controls, ground vehicle environments.
- Experience as a technical leader for a significant-sized team (e.g., Chief Engineer, Project Engineering Manager, Systems Engineering Lead), including presenting technical information to internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent leading development of EO/IR products.
- Model-based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw.
- Experience with laser development and laser suppliers.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $149,603 - $254,317. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
