Chief Bridge Engineer

About the role

The Chief Bridge Engineer oversees the design, construction, and maintenance of all bridge projects within the company. This role requires extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles and a proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire bridge project lifecycle from conceptual design to completion
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Manage budgets and schedules to meet project deadlines
• Ensure adherence to quality control measures and conduct regular inspections
• Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of professional engineering experience, including at least 5 years in bridge engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in relevant state(s)
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software

Qualifications

• Experience with bridge design software such as Bentley MicroStation or similar
• Knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations
• Understanding of environmental impact assessments and sustainability practices
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently

Pay
