Chief Bridge Engineer

About the role

The Chief Bridge Engineer oversees the design, construction, and maintenance of all bridge projects within the company. This role requires a deep understanding of structural engineering principles and extensive experience in bridge engineering.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire bridge project lifecycle from conceptual design to completion
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Lead the team in the development and implementation of innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges
• Ensure adherence to budget constraints and project timelines
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of existing bridges to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in bridge engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software

Qualifications

• Experience with bridge design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation
• Knowledge of materials science and their applications in bridge construction
• Understanding of environmental impact assessment and sustainable bridge design
• Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum

Pay
