Chief Bridge Engineer

About the role

The Chief Bridge Engineer oversees the design, construction, and maintenance of all bridge projects within the company. This includes ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire bridge project lifecycle from conception to completion
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality control measures
• Manage budgets and schedules to meet project deadlines
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of bridges to identify potential issues
• Develop and implement strategies to improve bridge maintenance and longevity

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of professional engineering experience
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with bridge design software and tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in relevant state(s)
• Knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations
• Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
• Understanding of environmental impact assessment processes
