Chief Bridge Engineer

About the role

The Chief Bridge Engineer oversees the design, construction, and maintenance of all bridge projects within the company. This role requires extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles and a proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire bridge project lifecycle from conceptual design to completion
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and construction teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Manage budgets and schedules to meet project deadlines
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of bridges to identify potential issues and implement necessary repairs
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies, contractors, and community leaders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in bridge engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Experience with bridge design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar
• Knowledge of materials science and their applications in bridge construction
• Understanding of environmental impact assessment and mitigation strategies
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Pay

Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000 annually
