Chemline Technician I (1st Shift)

This is a critical time for the semiconductor industry and for UCT. The Chemline Technician works in our Advanced Technology Cleaning Centers (ATCC)® to process and clean (eliminating micro-contamination) our customers’ new and in-process tool chamber parts. These manufacturing processes may use various machines, processes, and chemicals to meet the varying needs of particular chemistry, material composition, and coatings of different parts components. Processes may take place in a cleanroom or chemical processing environment. Safety is our number one priority, and some form of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is always required to avoid exposure and protect the individual.

Responsibilities

• Process parts utilizing both chemical and manual cleaning methods.
• Perform receiving, processing, wiping, scrubbing, masking, chemical processing, machine operating, etching, blasting, coating, drying, baking, and other processes, as needed.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Lean manufacturing processes, company policies, and practices.
• Complete training on assigned processes.
• Perform daily organization and upkeep of assigned process area.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and training programs.
• Handle hazardous chemicals correctly and safely, following all policies and directions for safe use and proper disposal.
• Participate in and adhere to the safety program and complete various pieces of training.
• Maintain exceptional skills in organizing tasks, efficiently managing time, and reporting achieved task goals.
• Maintain a high degree of safety and environmental awareness through the practice of safe work habits.
• Seek to advance skills and learn new processes.
• Receive, package, bag, inspect, and ship parts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or related field preferred.
• AA degree in a technical field or some college preferred.
• 1-year experience in manufacturing processes or materials.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience preferred.
• Experience in parts cleaning and coating technologies is desired.
• Kaizen or Lean training is a major plus.
• Media blast experience.
• Quality Assurance experience.
• Previous experience in the parts cleaning industry is a major plus.
• High-Tech or Semiconductor experience.

Skills

• Ability to handle repetitive work and provide fast turn-around on production related to masking, wiping, processing parts.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule including some weekend and evening work.
• Must be able to wear work area gowning: hairnet and frock.
• Maintain a high degree of safety and environmental awareness through the practice of safe work habits and 6S.
• Ability to take SPC measurements and log data.

Physical Demands

• Ability to kneel, reach, walk, push, pull, and grasp.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Lift up to 40 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Work with hazardous chemicals daily.
• Work in a cleanroom environment.
• Must be able to read and comprehend directions.
• Must be able to hear and speak to communicate with co-workers (accommodations can be made for emergency alerts for any deaf employees).

Pay

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $17.26 and $25.87/hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including variable pay and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
