Chemistry Non-Majors Part-Time Instructor Pool 2026-2027
Position Details
The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Physics in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at The University of Tampa invites applications for part-time instructors for non-majors chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Teach one or more non-majors chemistry lecture sections meeting 4-hours per week for a semester.
- Select the lecture textbook by the chemistry faculty.
- Auxiliary support for students both in and out of the classroom.
- Create syllabus each semester using guidelines provided by department.
- Offer office hours for students.
- Write, proctor, and grade examinations.
- Manage online learning management system (Canvas).
Requirements
- A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in chemistry or a related field, or equivalent experience will be considered.
- A graduate degree in chemistry or a related field will be given preference.
- Experience teaching non-majors chemistry is preferred.
Qualifications
Applications for part-time positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis which may include fall, spring, and summer.
