Chemistry Instructor Pool-Part-Time

Primary Purpose

Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's in chemistry OR
• Bachelor's in chemistry or biochemistry AND Master's in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology or geochemistry OR
• Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area OR the equivalent
• Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee

• The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom

Desirable Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in academic background and in teaching chemistry
• Knowledge and use of modern technologies and computerized applications in chemistry
• Experience in teaching organic chemistry
• Commitment to examine, reflect, and modify instructional, relational, and classroom practices in order to effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with the goal of closing equity gaps

Pay

• $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lecture unit rate
• $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate
• $1258.16 - $1380.60 per lab unit rate

Special Requirements

• The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration
• Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts
• All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions
• Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or course work are required
