About the role

We are seeking a Technical Manufacturing Chemist to support manufacturing and quality activities within a regulated laboratory environment. This role is responsible for producing materials, performing in-process testing, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in both team-based and independent settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily manufacturing activities in accordance with established production schedules.
  • Prepare materials using approved procedures and standard operating practices.
  • Perform routine laboratory activities including sample preparation, testing, and data collection.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure production and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory and manufacturing inventories.
  • Perform in-process quality testing, including pH measurements, titrations, and related analyses.
  • Document test results and observations in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, GLP, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Support investigations, troubleshooting efforts, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality, efficiency, and workflow.
  • Support the development and execution of protocols related to product and process improvement.
  • Maintain accurate production records and laboratory documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree with 1-2 years of relevant laboratory, manufacturing, or quality experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Entry-level candidates with strong academic laboratory experience are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Wet chemistry laboratory techniques
  • Pipetting
  • pH meters and titrations
  • Spectrophotometry
  • HPLC
  • ELISA assays
  • Gel electrophoresis or SDS-PAGE
  • Laboratory documentation and quality systems

Work Environment

  • Onsite laboratory and manufacturing environment in Scarborough, ME.
  • Hands-on role supporting production and testing activities.
  • Monday-Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM (2nd Shift).
