Chemist I

About the role

The Chemist I role will have responsibility for performing a variety of routine and non-routine tasks in a regulated laboratory environment in order to support, as well as help develop, analytical chemistry platforms. The Chemist I will work in conformance with company policies and current Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), regulatory requirements and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all quality system requirements.
• Performs preparation, collection, measurement and recordkeeping of samples.
• Documents test and data analysis results.
• Participates on cross-functional teams for continuous improvement activities.
• Communicates with team members to ensure schedule requirements are met.
• Applies knowledge of performed tasks to elucidate test method failures.
• Analyzes and deduces data and collates test results.
• Communicates priority and timeliness for completion of customer requests.
• Supports development area as needed / commercial QC release.
• Learns and understands the manufacturing organization that the lab supports.

Requirements

• Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, material science, or related technical discipline with 0 years of experience.
• Nice to have: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or related technical discipline with one year of laboratory experience.
• Experience with chromatography software (Empower).
• Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• The ability to work in a laboratory with solvents and pharmaceutical substances.
• General wet chemistry laboratory techniques and/or experience with liquid chromatography (UPLC/HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), Karl Fischer, and FT-IR, UV-Vis.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or related technical discipline with one year of laboratory experience.
• General wet chemistry laboratory techniques and/or experience with liquid chromatography (UPLC/HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), Karl Fischer, and FT-IR, UV-Vis.
• Experience with chromatography software (Empower).
• Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• The ability to work in a laboratory with solvents and pharmaceutical substances.
• Strong technical ability, experience with equipment set up, and troubleshooting skills.

Skills

• Knowledge of performed tasks to elucidate test method failures.
• Ability to analyze and deduce data and collate test results.
• Effective communication skills to communicate priority and timeliness for completion of customer requests.
• Ability to learn and understand the manufacturing organization that the lab supports.

$68,000.00 - $102,000.00
