Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join their team at Martin Luther Care Center. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. The Culinary Services position includes preparing food for optimal appeal to encourage consumption by residents in the Aurora on France Senior Living Community in Edina, MN.

About the Role

Aurora on France is a state-of-the-art senior living community attached to Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN. It offers a full continuum of care including transitional care, enhanced care, and assisted living/memory care. Responsibilities

• Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes
• Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards
• Ensures timely production and meal service is provided to residents
• Sets up line service
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and work area after each use
• Assists with special events
• Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff

Requirements

• Required: ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
• Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Qualifications

• Vocational/technical training/education/degree: High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Cooking experience in a similar environment
• Scratch cooking experience

Pay

An individual's pay rate within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer will be honored.

Schedule

This is a full-time culinary services position with a 55-hour workweek split between Day and Evening shifts, with every other weekend coverage.
