About the role

Eataly’s cheese department features 500+ high-quality cheeses sourced from Italy, internationally, and locally, many exclusive to Eataly. A Cheesemonger prepares, packages, receives, and stocks product while sharing their passion for cheese with guests. Reports to the Fresh Market Manager.

Responsibilities

• Assists guests with cheese selection and shares knowledge of products
• Weighs, labels, and packages products and completes food preparation in a timely manner
• Ensures counter and display refrigerators are neat and accurately stocked per the pricing menu; promptly informs management when food quantities or supplies are low
• Merchandizes displays attractively and rotates products per quality and First In First Out (FIFO) standards
• Cleans work station thoroughly
• Performs other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting
• Ability to use commercial equipment including scales, packaging machinery, and a cash register

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Basic knife skills
• Knowledge of cheese highly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Pay

Pay range is $17 - $18 an hour.
