About the Role
The Operating Room Charge RN responsibilities include:
- Proficient in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills
- Acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team
- Is responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
- Acts as a mentor and resource expert, supports and shares organizational information to all team members
- Performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned
Location & Schedule
- Location: Winter Haven Hospital
- Status: Full time
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts with variable start times between 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM)
- On Call: Yes
- Always in person
- Weekend Work: Occasional
Required Qualifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RN (Registered Nurse)
- Education: Bachelor's Nursing or Bachelor's Science in related field OR Associate's Nursing and RN Certification in related field
- Experience: 2 years acute care experience OR 2 years Interventional/Procedural
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years Operating Room experience as an RN
- Charge experience
- Board running experience
- ACLS (Cardiovascular) if required by department
- Nurse Specialty certification
- Experience: 1 year Interventional/Perioperative Internship
