Charge RN

Position Summary

The Charge Nurse role assists the Director in achieving organizational and Department specific goals and objectives. This position works in a supportive manner as a Charge nurse, quality management coordinator, and a resource for the unit. This position will provide back up support administratively in the absence of the Director.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the achievement of organizational and Department specific goals and objectives.
• Works in a supportive manner as a Charge nurse, quality management coordinator, and a resource for the unit.
• Provides back up support administratively in the absence of the Director.
• Carefully coordinates and directs total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a given period of duty by assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident/patient care.
• Participates in patient/resident and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other resident/patient team members according to established facility/unit and department policies, procedures and standards.
• Maintains resident/patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

• 2 year College (Associates Degree)
• 3 years minimum nursing experience
• Active State of Maine or Compact RN license
• BLS certification required

Qualifications

• Compassion
