Charge Nurse - Neuro ICU

About the role

This role involves coordinating and delivering high-quality nursing care across various patient populations, including newborns to adults, while managing operational issues during shifts. The nurse serves as a resource, communicates patient and departmental concerns, and provides clinical support as needed based on census demands.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes patient data to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Coordinates care delivery, promotes health and safety, and evaluates outcomes.
  • Practices ethically, fosters diversity and inclusion, and collaborates with stakeholders.
  • Leads practice, seeks ongoing knowledge, and incorporates evidence-based practices.
  • Ensures safe, effective, and fiscally responsible nursing services while maintaining a safe environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospital nursing experience; 2+ years preferred.
  • Active RN licensure in Georgia or a multistate license.

Qualifications

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization)
  • Specialty-specific certifications based on unit (e.g., AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, ENPC, TNCC).
  • Additional certification requirements vary by unit, including timely completion of specialty certifications within specified periods and adherence to pediatric, critical care, emergency, infusion, and women's services standards.
