Charge Nurse - MedSurg, Night Shift

About the Role

Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients across all ages and manages operational issues during the shift. Provides clinical care as needed based on census demands and communicates patient, departmental, and staff concerns to leadership. Serves as a resource and guide for nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality nursing care for diverse patient populations.
• Manage operational issues during the shift.
• Provide direct clinical care when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with leadership and staff about patient care and department concerns.
• Support staff guidance and assistance.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year hospital-based nursing experience; 2+ years preferred.
• Valid RN licensure for the state and/or multistate licensure.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Specialty certifications such as ACLS, PALS, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, NRP, and others, as applicable, are required or preferred based on unit needs.
• Additional certifications like AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring and PEARS are required depending on the department.
