Charge Nurse (LPN)
About the role
Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (LPN) to provide frontline clinical leadership and exceptional resident care within our skilled nursing community. This role oversees nursing services during assigned shifts, supervises caregiving teams, and ensures residents' needs are met with professionalism, compassion, and compliance with state, federal, and Americare standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts
- Ensuring compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures
- Supervising and guiding nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs
- Completing and updating resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation as needed
- Communicating changes in resident condition to families, physicians, and nursing leadership
- Administering medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
- Conducting routine rounds to ensure resident needs are being met
- Addressing, documenting, and reporting incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect
- Ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicated to leadership
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety
- Upholding Americare’s mission, vision, values, and company policies
Requirements
Licensure / Certification: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
Experience & Skills: Familiarity with state and federal nursing regulations, strong communication, leadership, and clinical judgment skills, experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or senior living preferred, commitment to resident-centered care and team collaboration, alignment with Americare’s Mission, Vision, Home Town Hospitality, and F.A.M.I.L.Y. Values
Physical Demands
Lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed, push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance
