About the role

The Charge Nurse will oversee the efficient operation of assigned Surgery Center(s), ensuring clinical best practices are followed and problems are proactively solved. This role involves recruiting and selecting staff, training and onboarding new hires, and developing team members through coaching and mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements nursing policies and procedures.
  • Communicates and interprets policies to nursing staff and monitors practices.
  • Participates in management team meetings and staff performance evaluations.
  • Hires and trains new staff, ensuring sufficient coverage and utilization.
  • Collaborates with physicians and management to operate centers within budgets.
  • Ensures patient care quality and supervises care plans.
  • Maintains required licenses and certifications for staff and personnel.
  • Coordinates with other facilities and organizations to improve patient care.
  • Manages nursing schedules to meet patient needs and regulatory standards.
  • Supports care programs and research initiatives.
  • Maintains a clean, professional environment and complies with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing plus 3-5 years of related Ambulatory and/or Circulating Nursing experience.
  • Prior staff management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in the Ophthalmic Industry with multiple Surgery Center locations desirable.
  • Experience with Regulatory and Accreditation Surveys (AAAHC Accreditation) desirable.

Skills

  • Knowledge of surgery center best practices and operations.
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Ability to create and deliver training plans.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and strategic thinking skills.
