Charge Master Analyst - Revenue Integrity - FT Days
About the role
The incumbent manages the Charge Description Master for inpatient and outpatient technical charges, including Room & Board Care, Pharmacy, Durable Medical Equipment, and ancillary services. They also handle charge capture development, rate analysis, and aligning hospital charges with physician charges. They serve as the primary liaison for institutional charge applications and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Manage Charge Description Master for inpatient and outpatient technical charges
- Develop and manage charge capture processes
- Analyze and align hospital charges with physician charges
- Provide expertise on institutional charge applications and regulatory guidelines
- Collaborate with Clinical Care Partners, Revenue Cycle Associates, and IT Business Analysts to make decisions regarding the Chargemaster
Requirements
- Effective communication with all levels of health system personnel
- Technical report writing and complex analysis
- Conversion of master files into reports for departmental use
- Understanding of third-party regulatory requirements including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial
- In-depth knowledge of coding, billing, and revenue management policies
- Experience with Epic PB Resolute certification
- Advanced computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
- Customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry with an in-depth knowledge of coding, billing, and revenue management policies
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle function spanning across different areas as well as cost accounting and of payer reimbursement as it relates to charges
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Analyzing situations, defining problems, researching, and formulating conclusions and making sound recommendations
- 3 years experience with CDM management
- 3 years experience in an academic or large healthcare system
- 3 years experience as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- 3 years chargemaster management experience
Qualifications
- Clear understanding of third-party regulatory requirements including Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and Commercial
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Epic PB Resolute certification
