Chaplain - Spiritual Care - PRN
About the role
The Chaplain Hourly provides chaplaincy service to patients, families and staff of the VCU Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Responds to requests for chaplaincy services/spiritual care.
- Consults with department staff chaplains in complex patient care situations.
- Ability to triage requests and multi‑task.
Requirements
Experience (Required): One (1) full‑time year post‑Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplaincy experience, which may include second year residency.
Experience (Preferred): Experience as a Chaplain in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center.
Education/Training (Required): 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The most recent unit of CPE must have been completed in the last 7 years.
Education/Training (Preferred): Two to three units of CPE through ACPE. Training at a level‑1 trauma center and/or pediatric hospital.

- Emotional: Fast pace environment, Steady pace, Able to handle multiple priorities, Frequent and intense customer interactions, Noisy environment, Able to adapt to frequent change

Pay
Compensation Range $23.18 - $35.92. Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
Schedule
Scheduled to work based on departmental needs including day of requests.
