Responsibilities

• Provides pastoral care to the local ministry and community through performing sacraments, rituals, blessings and liturgies.
• Participates and collaborates with others in the delivery of holistic patient care.
• Builds and maintains relationships with patients, families and associates through regular visitations and communication in order to create spiritual and religious connections.
• Mentors Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students and fellows.

Requirements

• Chaplain credential obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Board Certification from the ACPE, APC, NACC, CASC, or the NAJC at time of hire or job transfer (or obtained within two years of hire or job transfer; risking termination if not obtained within timeframe) is required.
• For those not board certified at time of hire or job transfer, ecclesiastical endorsement is required.
• Master's degree or enrolled in a Master's degree program in Theology, Spirituality, Social Work, Divinity, Philosophy, Servant Leadership, Pastoral Studies, Human Behavior, or a related field from an accredited school is required.
• 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by the ACPE, CPEI, or CPSP is required only if not board-certified.
• 4 units of accredited CPE are preferred.
