Job Summary And Responsibilities As our Chaplain, you will serve as a vital spiritual leader and compassionate caregiver within our hospital community, providing essential spiritual counseling and support to patients, families, and staff. Every day, you will provide direct spiritual, religious, and existential care, offering compassionate presence, support, and appropriate rituals to patients, families, and staff, especially during times of crisis or grief. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to advocate for spiritual needs and integrate holistic care, ensuring respect for diverse beliefs. To be successful in this role, you must be a highly compassionate individual, comfortable and skilled in engaging with people who may be emotional, panicked, stressed, or in pain. You'll need the proven ability to provide empathetic care, adapt to diverse spiritual needs, and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Maintains accurate documentation in patient charts regarding spiritual care interventions, plans, and outcomes. Maintains accurate records of other spiritual care activities related to community, family, and staff careAdvocates for patient rights in regard to spiritual, cultural, and psychosocial values and how they impact a patient and their support system response to their careSupports an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care by participating in team meetings and rounds; includes inter- and intra-departmental projects and committees as assignedProvides education to patients and families about spiritual resources, advance directives, organ and tissue donation, ethics, and other spiritual issues that may ariseParticipates in ritual, worship, and sacramental needs of patients, family and staffProvides spiritual care to staff and serves as professional spiritual care resource and fosters a sense of spirituality in the workplace throughout the medical center Job Requirements Required Master's degree in Theology, Pastoral Care/Counseling, Divinity, OR a Master's degree recognized by the endorser for minority religious groups (must provide letter of approval for degree from endorser)Clinical Pastoral Education: 4 units of CPE (1600 hours) in an accredited ACPE hospital centerBoard Certified Chaplain APC, within 24 - months of hire Preferred One (1)+ years of chaplaincy experience in a hospital or healthcare setting Where You'll Work Hello Humankindness Imagine a workplace where your passion for healing meets a commitment to community.
