Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and holistic spiritual care to residents.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nursing, life enrichment, allied health staff, and the corporate team.
- Conduct interfaith worship experiences, fostering a sense of community and shared faith with professional and ethical standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when working or interacting with residents, their families, other providers, and staff members.
- Support the maintenance of spiritual care records as directed.
- Accept and perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience serving as a chaplain in a clinical or pastoral care environment.
- Board Certification as a chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains preferred but not required.
- Follow and adhere to organization, federal, and state regulations and guidelines, including Resident/Client rights.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to work as a member of the interdisciplinary group.
- Comfortable in an interfaith setting.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance, adhering to the dress code of the organization/program.
- Local travel required.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional twisting, reaches at shoulder height, reaches above or below shoulder height, and bending.
- Lifts and carries up to 25 lbs.
- 60% of the workday is spent sitting, 30% walking, and 10% standing.
- Adapts to frequent interruptions and changing situations.
