About the Role
A member of the operations Changeover Crew reports directly to the Operations Coordinator. The position is primarily responsible for the changeover at the Clovis Civic Center from one event to another. Additionally, crew members may assist with building maintenance tasks such as painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, and furniture moving. This role requires physical labor, heavy lifting, and maintaining a positive attitude and appearance.
This is a part-time position with an hourly rate of $12.00.
About The Venue
The Clovis Civic Center is located in Clovis, New Mexico. Our 35,000-square-foot space includes a ballroom, meeting rooms, and a plaza, specializing in banquets and meetings.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events, including setting up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment.
- Responsible for the physical setup of all venue areas, including chairs, tables, staging, furnishings, and equipment for banquets, conferences, and meetings.
- Respond to promoters'/clients' needs as directed by the onsite manager.
- Assist with pre/post event cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning.
- Navigate the facility, involving bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and working in moderate to loud noises.
- Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, entrances, and the event plaza.
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, and maintaining conversion-related operational equipment.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other departments, clients, and patrons.
- Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results.
- Actively care for all venue equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
- Respond to and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by staff and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with event changeovers is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work under deadlines dictated by event schedules and project timetables.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively with others.
- Must be adaptable and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Must be able to navigate the facility, involving bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and dealing with moderate to loud noises.
- Snow removal of outside areas may be required during winter months.
- Must work safely and effectively.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lift heavy objects unaided.
