Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
- Set up and tear down including risers, staging, basketball floor, chairs, tables, pipe and drape, and other items as needed for events at the facility.
- Handle folding chairs, stacking chairs, tables of various shapes and sizes, drapery, and skirting.
- Respond to promoters'/clients' needs as directed by the onsite building manager.
- Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning.
- Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, entrances, and the event plaza.
- Perform painting, patching, and other conversion-related upkeep/repairs.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment.
- Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results.
- Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment.
- Respond to and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- A demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Experience in public facilities highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including long hours, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to lift heavy objects on a regular basis.
