About the role

This is a Full-Time On-Site position available in Perryville, MO. West Star is a rapidly growing MRO provider committed to employee growth and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Removal and installation of panels and components.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues.
  • Engine removal/installations.
  • Operating ground support equipment.
  • Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
  • AMT I: Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar.
  • AMT II: Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience working in aviation maintenance.
  • Experience working on corporate aircraft is preferred but not essential.
  • AMT III: Airframe license is required; in addition, Powerplant license is highly preferred.
  • 4-6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Experience working on corporate aircraft is highly preferred but not essential.
  • AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license is required.
  • 6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Subject matter expert in all areas of the job.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
  • Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
  • Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance.
  • May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.

SkillsBasic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases.
  • Effective and clear communication (i.e., speaking, writing, reading) in English.
  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
  • Work with others in a professional manner.
  • Physical requirements: Lifts 50 lbs., routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting, routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands, climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas, standing for long periods of time.
  • Mental requirements: Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines, troubleshoot or evaluate system operation, work with others in a professional manner.
