About the role

The Research Associate will contribute to the research group's projects focusing on numerical structural analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with Prof. Alexander Düster on advanced computational methods and their applications in engineering structures.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research in numerical structural analysis using state-of-the-art computational tools
  • Developing and implementing new algorithms for structural analysis
  • Collaborating with other researchers and engineers on interdisciplinary projects
  • Writing technical reports and presenting findings at conferences

Requirements

  • A PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience with finite element methods and computational mechanics
  • Strong programming skills in relevant languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to conduct independent research
  • Interest in applying computational techniques to real-world engineering problems
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
