CFO (Japanese-speaking)

Position Summary

In this position, you will lead all financial, accounting, treasury, and internal control functions across a multi-entity corporate structure, driving financial strategy and ensuring compliance while supporting organizational growth, M&A activities, and expansion into new markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Oversee consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities and subsidiaries
• Establish and maintain internal controls and governance frameworks
• Support the setup and financial operations of new regional offices
• Manage and mentor accounting leadership and staff
• Oversee A/R, A/P, general ledger, and project accounting functions
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements
• Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and banking relationships
• Lead financial due diligence for M&A transactions and post-merger integration
• Oversee payroll processes and employee benefit programs including 401(k)
• Drive investor reporting and financial analysis for real estate projects
• Drive process improvements, automation, and reporting enhancements
• Cross-border financial management, including reporting to overseas parent companies
• Management of multiple entities, including special purpose companies (SPCs)
• Cash flow management, intercompany fund transfers, and investor distribution oversight
• Financial management related to real estate investment and development projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• CPA preferred
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or audit
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and J-GAAP
• Experience managing multi-entity and cross-border operations
• Proven leadership and team management experience
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks)
