Overview
AWP Safety is looking for motivated individuals to join as a Traffic Control Supervisor. This role is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor work and want a dynamic career path.
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and remove channelizing devices and other traffic control equipment according to guidelines and plans.
- Coordinate and communicate with AWP personnel and customers to ensure safe work zone operations.
- Drive company vehicles to transport equipment and team members to and from work sites.
- Control a Flagger Station, using hand signals and a STOP/SLOW paddle to manage traffic.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to Protectors (Flaggers).
- Complete required project documentation and report any safety issues or incidents.
Qualifications
- TCS Certification (ATSSA) or 4000+ verifiable hours of traffic control experience.
- 2+ years of traffic control experience.
- TMA Driver certification.
- Familiarity with a client-based schedule.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and traffic.
- Pass pre-employment screening, including a drug test.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The employee must be able to manage the physical demands of this position, which include:
- Hours of operation may vary based on staffing needs and workload.
- Typical workweek 40 hours.
- Majority of time spent in the field.
- Exposure to inclement weather, noise, and extreme conditions at construction job sites.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Standing for long periods and performing strenuous physical labor.
