Certified Traffic Control Supervisor

Overview

AWP Safety is looking for motivated individuals to join as a Traffic Control Supervisor. This role is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor work and want a dynamic career path.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and remove channelizing devices and other traffic control equipment according to guidelines and plans.
• Coordinate and communicate with AWP personnel and customers to ensure safe work zone operations.
• Drive company vehicles to transport equipment and team members to and from work sites.
• Control a Flagger Station, using hand signals and a STOP/SLOW paddle to manage traffic.
• Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to Protectors (Flaggers).
• Complete required project documentation and report any safety issues or incidents.

Qualifications

• TCS Certification (ATSSA) or 4000+ verifiable hours of traffic control experience.
• 2+ years of traffic control experience.
• TMA Driver certification.
• Familiarity with a client-based schedule.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and traffic.
• Pass pre-employment screening, including a drug test.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The employee must be able to manage the physical demands of this position, which include:

• Hours of operation may vary based on staffing needs and workload.
• Typical workweek 40 hours.
• Majority of time spent in the field.
• Exposure to inclement weather, noise, and extreme conditions at construction job sites.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for long periods and performing strenuous physical labor.
