Location: Carmel, IN | Facility: Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center | Department/Specialty: Cardiac Services | Cardiovascular Operating Room | Schedule: Full Time Days, four 10-hour shifts

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of cardiovascular and/or neuro surgical procedures.
• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons' provision of hemostasis during surgery.

Requirements

• BLS Provider credential obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Surgical Tech credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma or equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Qualifications

Preferred: at least 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience.
