About the role

SOVAH Health - Martinsville is seeking a full-time Certified Central Sterile Technician to collect, decontaminate, store, and distribute all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. You will monitor and perform antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and document daily. The role involves processing and documenting all sterile supplies and equipment using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy. You will also continually account for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery and operate departmental equipment daily with an emphasis on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, decontaminate, store, and distribute reusable supplies and patient care equipment.
  • Monitor and perform antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions; document daily.
  • Process and document all sterile supplies and equipment using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility.
  • Continually account for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Operate departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with an emphasis on safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Pay

Hourly range: $18.53 - $22.88
