About the role
Sovah Martinsville is seeking a full-time Certified Central Sterile Technician to collect, decontaminate, store, and distribute all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and performing antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
- Processing and documenting all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
- Continually accounting for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Operating departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with an emphasis on safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
