Certified Senior Medical Assistant- Primary Care (Cinco Ranch/ Katy)

About the role

The Certified Senior Medical Assistant position at Houston Methodist Primary Care Group is responsible for providing comprehensive medical assistance to patients under the supervision of a physician. This role requires a minimum of five years of medical assistant experience with a focus on managing highly complex, chronic disease cases.

Responsibilities

• Pre-visit planning and documentation
• Assisting with patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatment plans
• Medication review and administration
• Documentation of patient vitals, medical history, and treatment details
• Follow-up with patients to ensure medication adherence and address any concerns
• Coordination with other healthcare providers and community resources
• Ensuring patient satisfaction and providing feedback to improve departmental performance

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Five years of medical assistant experience with complex chronic disease management
• A certified medical assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA, or Registered Medical Assistant
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• CPT certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology

Pay

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
