About the role

This position is responsible for ensuring efficient operation of the facility under the direction of the facility leader. As a Certified Senior Medical Assistant, you will work in a Medical Home or medical group setting, contributing to patient care teams and providing support across various aspects of healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and track test results
  • Coordinate patient education and close care gaps
  • Provide educational resources to other medical assistants
  • Aid in back-office duties such as escorting patients, taking vital signs, maintaining exam room stock, documenting communications, preparing lab specimens, scheduling tests, and handling administrative tasks
  • Assist providers in delivering high-quality care and ensuring compliance with medical group standards
  • Support managers in daily duties including competency and quality assurance
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with other departments, entities, physicians, and external agencies
  • Accurately collect demographic, clinical, and financial information from patients and other healthcare providers

Requirements

  • Current State of Nevada license for Office Laboratory Assistant or Certified Laboratory Assistant
  • Current AHA BLS certification within 90 days
  • One of the following certifications: CCMA, CMAC, CMA, NRCMA, RMA, NREMT, State of Nevada EMT certification
  • Experience in a clinical health care position with at least 2 years as a medical assistant
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements and access online forms and policies

Qualifications

  • Graduation from Medical Assistant school preferred
  • Fluency in English language, including reading, writing, and speaking
  • Knowledge of medical assistant workflow, back-office processes, and point-of-care testing
  • Ability to comply with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies and third-party reimbursement requirements
