Certified Senior Medical Assistant - Urgent Care Los Altos

This position is responsible for ensuring the facility operates efficiently under the direction of the facility leader. As a Certified Senior Medical Assistant, you will work in a Medical Home or medical group setting, contributing to patient care teams and performing tasks such as:

• Roaming patients
• Tracking and coordinating test results
• Providing patient education
• Closing care gaps
• Assisting with back-office duties including escorting patients, taking vital signs, maintaining examination room stock, documenting communications, preparing lab specimens, scheduling tests, and handling phone calls.
• Administering treatments and medications according to provider orders.
• Maintaining compliance with medical group standards and regulatory agencies.

You will also represent Renown Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values, and adhere to policies and procedures while meeting productivity standards. You will assist the manager in daily duties, including competency and quality assurance, and develop positive working relationships with other departments and entities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from Medical Assistant school preferred
• 2 years of experience in a clinical health care position with at least 1 year as a medical assistant
• Current State of Nevada license for Office Laboratory Assistant or Certified Laboratory Assistant
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) certification within 90 days
• Ability to obtain and maintain one of the following certifications within 90 days: CCMA, CMAC, CMA, NRCMA, RMA, NREMT, EMT
• Basic math skills
• Computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements and access online forms and policies
