About the role
Overland Park Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures ordered by a physician
- Administer medical gases
- Provide aerosol therapy
- Obtain and analyze blood specimens
- Operate and maintain various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment
- Assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Provide patient education
- Maintain safety and infection control practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required
- Current Respiratory Therapist license from the State Board for Respiratory Care
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) CRT certification required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS certification preferred upon hire
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross NRP certification required within 6 months of hire
- One year of recent clinical experience preferred
Qualifications

Skills
- Broad knowledge of the pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system
- Complex procedures required to properly diagnose and treat patients
- Experience with medical gas administration, aerosol therapy, and patient testing
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of respiratory and cardiopulmonary equipment
- Knowledge of mechanical ventilation, artificial airways, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain safety and infection control practices
