About the role
The Respiratory Therapist demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Respiratory Therapist / Technician is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing, and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Florida Respiratory Care Practice Act, physician’s orders, recognized Respiratory Care techniques, policies, procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.
Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (CRT-State) Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Associate Degree

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast, providing interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We also offer inpatient and outpatient surgical services.
