Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program.
- Current CRNA license in Montana required to start the assignment.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) credential required.
- Minimum five years of related experience as a CRNA.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Proficient English language oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia, monitor patients' vital signs, and oversee patient recovery from anesthesia.
- Assist anesthesiologists, surgeons, other physicians, or dentists as needed.
- Deliver care in accordance with facility and professional standards.
- Document anesthesia care thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner per facility standards.
- Communicate patient condition regularly with appropriate personnel during and at handoff for each shift.
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet unit needs, including participation in on-call rotations for emergency coverage.
- Deliver anesthesia and perioperative care according to accepted standards and protocols.
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessment and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
- Monitor and manage physiologic status during anesthesia and intervene as needed to maintain patient safety.
- Oversee post-anesthesia recovery and provide appropriate handoff to postoperative care teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding anesthesia and postoperative expectations as appropriate.
Schedule
- Primary shift: Days. Typical scheduled hours during assigned weeks are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (some schedules may be 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
- Work cycle: Two consecutive weeks of M–F clinical shifts followed by one week off, coded as paid non-work time.
- On-call rotation: CRNAs rotate on-call every other day and every other weekend during scheduled weeks. On-call coverage applies after hours for emergencies on assigned call days.
- Employee receives a full 40-hour paycheck on each pay date.
