About the role
Certified Recovery Specialist - Full-Time, 6a-2p on site. Some local travel for program outreach required.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and develop appropriate and authentic peer-to-peer relationships.
- Delivers support services: such as education, advocacy, and fostering engagement in the treatment process.
- Provide recovery support education for persons enrolled, staff, and family members.
- Assist the individual in identifying strengths and abilities to teach a person in recovery how to utilize personal assets to advance recovery.
- Support person-centered interventions as identified in service plans for everyone served.
- Identify community/natural resources and assist the individual in connecting with them and other peer supports such as mutual aid groups, support groups, NA/AA.
- Offer guidance on the recovery experience to include stage appropriate recovery education and relapse prevention education through the utilization of their relapse prevention plan.
- Maintain one’s own physical, mental, and emotional well-being so that the DAPS can function appropriately in the job and can model healthy functioning to those we serve.
- Complete required documentation of services in a timely manner according to agency policy.
Qualifications
- Must self-identify as an individual with a serious mental illness who is currently or formerly a recipient of mental health services and/or substance abuse recovery services.
- Valid Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) certification in PA.
- HS Diploma/GED.
- At least 2 years working with others in Mental Health Recovery.
- Valid drivers license.
- ACT 33/34 clearances if required by program.
- PA State PATCH clearance.
