Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

About the Role

As a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely coding of outpatient services at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital. You will review and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient services, including physician notes, lab results, and other relevant documentation, while ensuring compliance with coding regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate and complete ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for outpatient services
• Review medical records, physician notes, lab results, and other documentation to determine proper coding
• Conduct research to resolve coding discrepancies and questions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date coding records and reports
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other coding staff to ensure accurate coding practices
• Stay up-to-date with the latest coding regulations, guidelines, and standards

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience as a Coder preferred
