Responsibilities
- Follow California Codes (BPC: 1246; CCR 1034) to work in the laboratory.
- Collect samples for analysis in the clinical laboratory under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- Perform computer entry, filing, telephone communication, and other clerical duties.
- Work independently or in groups across any shift, under direct supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory test terminology and maintain professional telephone and patient interaction etiquette.
- Utilize phlebotomy skills and equipment to collect specimens from newborns to geriatric patients.
- Process specimens for microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank.
- Prepare specimens for reference laboratory testing.
- Maintain inventory by stocking and ordering routine supplies.
- Keep storage areas, trays, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, and collection areas clean.
- Navigate the facility independently and perform blood collection safely and efficiently.
- Process or place specimens on laboratory instrumentation according to established policies and procedures.
- Complete special projects or assignments within specified timeframes.
Requirements
- Certificate of CPT I in the State of California.
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred; new graduates accepted.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire.

Pay
The current compensation range for this role is $25.70 to $25.70 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
