Certified Phlebotomy Technician Location: San Diego, CA Job Type: Temporary – 10 Weeks Start Date: November 16, 2026 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM Hours: 40 hours per week Specialty: Outpatient Clinic Position Overview We are seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician to support an outpatient clinical laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures safely and accurately while maintaining a professional and patient-focused environment. Responsibilities Perform blood draws and specimen collection in accordance with established procedures. Properly identify patients and verify required information before specimen collection. Handle, label, process, and transport specimens according to laboratory standards. Maintain accurate documentation and specimen records. Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures. Provide professional and courteous service to patients. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members. Follow applicable laboratory and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Current California Phlebotomy Certification/License. Strong understanding of phlebotomy procedures and specimen handling. Ability to follow established safety and infection control protocols. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications 2–6 years of laboratory experience preferred. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Previous experience in an outpatient clinic or healthcare setting.
