The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.

What You Bring To The Table (Must Have)

• A High School Diploma or GED
• Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment
• California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of your date of hire and maintained throughout employment
• One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
• Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training
• Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver
• Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Benefits

• Home First FSP provides intensive and comprehensive housing supports to individuals who are at risk of losing housing in the Central region of Orange County.
• Staff will be deployed to provide services onsite at permanent supportive housing developments, scattered site apartments and other transitional housing locations where clients reside.
• Focus areas will include resident wellness checks; wellness groups, skill building activities, and housing stabilization focused case management services; behavioral health and substance use services, crisis interventions; conflict resolution and property manager mediation; and other interventions that focus on successful tenancy, eviction avoidance and community integration.
