About the role

Responsibilities
- Engage in meaningful, one-on-one conversations to help members set and reach their own goals.
- Champion choice: Ensure every member’s voice and preference is heard and respected through our Recovery-Centered Clinical System (RCCS).
- Use your unique perspective to de-escalate crisis situations with empathy, keeping the environment safe and supportive for everyone.
- Lead site-wide events like BBQs, celebrations, and education groups to foster a sense of belonging at Valley Vista.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification (CalMHSA) must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment.
- One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges.
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care.
- Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
- Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
- Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
- Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc.

Pay
Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Geographic differentials apply to pay ranges.
Schedule
Full-Time | Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday | 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
