About the role

Responsibilities

  • Engage in meaningful, one-on-one conversations to help members set and reach their own goals.
  • Champion choice: Ensure every member’s voice and preference is heard and respected through our Recovery-Centered Clinical System (RCCS).
  • Use your unique perspective to de-escalate crisis situations with empathy, keeping the environment safe and supportive for everyone.
  • Lead site-wide events like BBQs, celebrations, and education groups to foster a sense of belonging at Valley Vista.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification (CalMHSA) must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges.
  • Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care.
  • Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
  • Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.
  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc.

Qualifications

Pay

Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Geographic differentials apply to pay ranges.

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday | 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
