About the role
Banner Desert Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join their Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Mesa, Arizona. The PCU is part of their East Valley expansion, offering 36 beds to support patients.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health.
- Absorbs and documents patient data, including vital signs, input/output, and other delegated measurements.
- Recognizes and reports abnormalities or changes in the patient’s health status and responses to treatment.
- Maintains continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating patient status to other caregivers.
- Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice.
- Participates in OR room turnover and assists with transporting patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients to critical care units.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice.
Qualifications
- Medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or physician office setting.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.
- Basic electrocardiogram interpretation course or on-the-job training.

$19.17 per hour for night shifts.
Schedule
Full Time and Part Time Night Shift positions working from 6pm-6:30am. Rotating weekends and holidays are required.
