About the role

Banner Children's Hospital at Desert NICU is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our team. The NICU is unique, offering a diverse scope of roles including HUC, tech, and formula tech.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses in caring for well babies
• Help with basic hygiene needs
• Maintain patient mobility
• Support nutritional intake
• Collect and document vital signs and other measurements
• Communicate patient status to other caregivers
• Perform delegated procedures under supervision
• Support medical staff and patients during unit-specific procedures
• Transcribe and process physician orders
• Order and track supplies
• Transport patients as needed
• Participate in OR room turnover

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in state of practice
• Current BLS certification

Qualifications

• Medical clerical experience
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy
• Ability to perform basic ECG or EEG interpretation

Benefits

• 3 - 12 hour shifts, 6AM-6:30PM
• Every third Saturday/Sunday off
• 18% night shift differential
• $1/hour weekend shift differential
