Clinical Assistant - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
About the role
The Clinical Assistant position at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children supports the delivery of exceptional health care services. This role involves performing a variety of nursing and health care procedures, as well as certain clerical services.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of nursing and health care procedures
- Assist in pediatric surgeries
- Care for premature babies and infants with cardiovascular and/or respiratory disease
- Provide care to newborn infants requiring treatments for various diagnoses including infection and surgery
- Support and educate patients and families in an atmosphere promoting bonding of the family unit
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of nurse aide course with certification OR completion of nursing fundamentals
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card
- One year of clinical experience OR successful completion of HPH Nurse Aide Program
- Current Hawaii CNA certificate
- One year clerical experience in a healthcare setting
Qualifications
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and either completion of a nurse aide course with certification or completion of nursing fundamentals. They must also have a current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card, one year of clinical experience or successful completion of the HPH Nurse Aide Program, a current Hawaii CNA certificate, and one year of clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
