About the Role

The occupational therapy assistant performs patient-related activities. Services may include, but are not limited to, purposeful activities or interventions to maximize independence and maintain the health of individuals limited by physical injury or illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disability, or adverse environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the occupational therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures
• Observing, recording, and reporting to the therapist the condition, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties
• Assisting the therapist in consulting with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate
• Assisting with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment
• Assisting the occupational therapist with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned

Requirements

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification
• High School Diploma/GED
• Strong interpersonal skills
