Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant COTA
About the Role
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with our occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of our patients. You will provide hands-on therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of techniques and equipment to promote optimal function and independence. Your expertise will be essential in helping our patients recover from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries, and to adjust to long-term health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans
- Conduct daily therapy sessions, using a variety of techniques and equipment to promote patient independence and function
- Develop and implement treatment plans that address patient goals and needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and reports
- Participate in in-service education and professional development programs to stay current with industry best practices
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited COTA program
- Must be certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Must have a valid state license to practice as a COTA
